Meet the San Antonio Team Behind Halden Heating and Air San Antonio

We’re not a call center that dispatches whoever’s available. The crew that shows up at your door in San Antonio is the same group of people who answer your questions, explain your options, and stand behind the work for a full year. Andre started this shop in 2004 with a simple rule: hire people who’d be comfortable explaining a failed blower motor to their own grandmother. Every person on this page lives in the San Antonio area, knows the difference between a Leon Valley heat load and a Stone Oak one, and carries the Relay Standard on every call. No subcontractors, no rotating door.

Our People

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been turning wrenches on residential HVAC systems for over 16 years, the last 9 of them with our team in San Antonio. He holds EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling and has factory training through Carrier and Trane, which means he’s seen the inside of more condensing units than most people have seen sunsets. If your capacitor fails on a 103-degree afternoon in Alamo Heights, Marcus is the guy diagnosing it in under an hour. He keeps a small notebook in his van with wiring diagrams he’s drawn himself over the years, and he’ll walk you through exactly what failed before he ever picks up a tool. On weekends, he rebuilds old motorcycles in his garage off Bandera Road, which explains why he’s so patient with stubborn equipment.

Elena R., Senior Installer

Elena leads our installation crews and has put in more new air handlers and condensers across San Antonio than she can count, though she remembers the first one: a two-ton Goodman in a 1950s bungalow near Woodlawn Lake that fought her every step of the way. She’s NATE-certified and specializes in the tricky retrofits, the houses with undersized ductwork or electrical panels that were never meant to handle a modern heat pump. Elena is the one who’ll notice your return air isn’t sized right and tell you honestly before she sells you a bigger unit. She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and still can’t believe how limestone makes San Antonio digging so much harder than it looks. Her installs are measured, level, and quiet, and she makes sure the line set is routed like it belongs there.

Denise K., Service Coordinator

Denise is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. when your furnace starts making a sound like a garbage disposal eating a spoon. She’s been coordinating service calls in San Antonio for 11 years, and she knows the street grid well enough to give you a realistic arrival window, not a guess. Before she worked in HVAC, Denise managed a pediatric dental office, which is where she learned how to keep a stressed person calm while solving a practical problem. She tracks every appointment from your first call through the follow-up, so when your tech arrives, they already know the history of your system and what to bring. Denise keeps a running list of the best breakfast tacos near every neighborhood we serve, and she’ll share it if you ask.

Tony S., Apprentice Technician

Tony is two years into his HVAC career and already has his EPA certification plus a stack of factory training modules from Rheem and Lennox under his belt. He rides with Marcus on most calls, hauling tools, shadowing diagnostics, and getting better every week at identifying the difference between a failing contactor and a failing thermostat. Tony grew up in San Antonio near McCreless Mall and went through the HVAC program at St. Philip’s College, so he knows the trade from the classroom side and the crawlspace side. He’s fast with a multimeter and even faster with a joke, usually terrible, which Marcus tolerates. We’d rather train our own people than poach from another shop, and Tony’s exactly the kind of person we hire: curious, careful, and allergic to cutting corners.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person you just read about works under the same set of rules, and none of them are negotiable. You get a written price before any work starts, on a form with your name and the actual job listed. You get a written guarantee on every repair, not a handshake and a vague promise. If the repair fails, you get a free second visit, automatically, because that’s what the guarantee says. We carry those standards across every job in San Antonio, from a blower motor swap in a Dominion condo to a full furnace replacement in a Helotes rancher. The Relay Standard is what makes this shop different from a one-van operation, and the Relay Visibility Guarantee is what lets you see exactly who’s coming and when. Andre’s name is on every truck and every invoice because he’s the one who set the bar, and he answers the phone when you call.
