HVAC Before & After in San Antonio, TX

Anyone can say they do clean work. Seeing it is different. The photos below show real San Antonio HVAC jobs we’ve handled: aged condensers pulled out of Alamo Heights backyards, rusted furnace burners replaced in Stone Oak utility closets, and new systems installed in homes across the north side. We document our work because the before-and-after tells you more in ten seconds than a sales pitch ever could. Every project below follows the same rule we’ve had since 2004: written price before work starts, written guarantee when it’s done.

AC Condenser Replacement in Alamo Heights

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter

The old Carrier unit was 17 years old, running R-22 refrigerant that’s been phased out for years. The compressor was drawing high amps and tripping the breaker on afternoons above 98 degrees. We pulled the entire condenser, flushed the line set, and installed a matched system with R-410A. The new unit pulls about 40% less power, and the homeowner’s July bill dropped noticeably the first month.

Clogged Evaporator Coil Cleanout in Stone Oak

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter

This Trane air handler hadn’t seen maintenance in years. The coil was matted with a half-inch of gray biofilm, and airflow across the house was down to a whisper. We pulled the coil, applied a commercial-grade cleaner, and rinsed it until the pan drained clear. Static pressure dropped back to normal, and the system stopped freezing up at night.

Furnace Burner Assembly Rebuild in Castle Hills

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter

The flame sensor kept shutting this Goodman furnace down, but the real problem was underneath it. The burners were so corroded the flame was lazy and yellow instead of tight and blue, which means incomplete combustion and carbon monoxide risk. We replaced the burner assembly and flame sensor, then verified the heat exchanger with a combustion analyzer. The furnace fired clean and stayed on.

Full System Replacement in Helotes

This house had a mismatched setup: a 14-year-old Lennox condenser paired with a Goodman air handler from a different install. The coil inside didn’t match the condenser outside, which kills efficiency and shortens equipment life. We removed both, installed a properly matched Rheem system with a new plenum, and sealed the duct connections with mastic. The temperature difference across the coil went from 14 degrees to 20 degrees.

Drain Pan and Secondary Line Repair in Shavano Park

The homeowner found water staining on the ceiling below the attic unit. The secondary drain pan had rusted through in one corner, and the primary PVC line was back-pitched so water sat in it instead of draining. We replaced the pan, rerouted the line with proper fall, and added a safety float switch wired to shut the system down if the drain ever backs up again. Ceiling saved, headache over.

Capacitor and Contactor Rebuild in Leon Valley

When we opened this Rheem condenser, the capacitor was bulged at the top like a soda can left in a hot car, and the contactor points were pitted from years of arcing. Both are typical failures in San Antonio heat. We replaced both, checked the compressor windings to make sure nothing downstream had been damaged, and had the system cooling again in under an hour.
